Modern Management is for newly-appointed supervisors, multi-disciplinary team leaders, program coordinators and managers across the continuum of health services. It provides a solid introduction to contemporary management concepts, functions and behaviours, and a broad base for further career and leadership development.
To apply, students must be working in a healthcare organization.
Modern Management reflects current theory and practice in health services as well as the public and private sectors. It also recognizes that many organizations and institutions are moving towards program management and other management models. The program uses Management (Canadian Ninth Edition) by Stephen Robbins et al. (Pearson Education Canada Inc., 2009) as its basic textbook and supplementary readings from current health services and management journals.
